The University of Adelaide seeks an expert in the field of semiconductor materials and devices for a new Chair in ‘Quantum Materials’. The goal of this exciting postdoc position is to grow an established semiconductor technology base so that it becomes a world-class facility in advanced quantum materials and semiconductor devices.
Postdoc position:
You will work with a team of defence, industry and academic researchers within the Department of Physics (https://sciences.adelaide.edu.au/physical-sciences/research/physics-research) and the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (https://www.adelaide.edu.au/ipas/) at the University of Adelaide.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated outstanding capability in the development and production of semiconductors materials and device fabrication. You will also have a demonstrated ability to attract research funding and have demonstrated initiative to facilitate the growth of the facility into new directions.
Qualification:
- A PhD or equivalent industry experience in an appropriate area of physics or a cognate discipline.
- A record of distinction and significant professional standing in the field of quantum materials.
- Demonstrated experience in atomic layer epitaxy using MBE systems, semiconductor device design, fabrication and testing.
- An outstanding track record of research.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research funding from competitive grants and industry partners.
- The ability to convey complex ideas to a range of audiences.
