Call for Special Issue 2020: Natural Language Generation (NLG) is the sub-field of Artificial Intelligence and Computational Linguistics that is concerned with the construction of computational systems that can produce understandable texts from some underlying non-linguistic representation of information.
In this regard, NLG addresses the data-value chain by translating information on raw data into natural language, offering a natural way to communicate complex information to users.
The purpose of this special issue is to publish the results of recent and prominent developments in the field of NLG, an area that has seen a marked increase of interest in both academia and industry in recent years.
Journal also welcome works with a focus on the connections between NLG and neighbouring areas of research, such as Machine Translation, dialogue & chatbots, and summarization, which face some of the same intellectual challenges as NLG.
Topic of Interest
This special issue will be soliciting papers on the following general topics related to NLG (but are not limited to):
- Affect/emotion generation
- Applications for people with disabilities
