The Institution of Eminence (IoE) is an initiative of the Government of India that aims to develop select universities into world-class institutions. The IoE-PDF scheme is a part of this initiative and is aimed at attracting young and motivated researchers from across the country and abroad. The scheme provides infrastructure and financial support to engage in creative, high-quality work in their discipline/area of interest.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The IoE-PDF scheme is open to candidates from UGC-recognized (public or private) institutions or institutions of national importance or from international institutions (NRI/PIO/Foreign nationals) with a degree awarded not more than three years prior to the date of announcement of this call for applications.
Candidates belonging to OBC/EWS/SC/ST/Women/PwD categories can apply if their PhD was awarded not more than five years from the date of announcement of this call for applications.
Candidates must be under the age of 30 at the time of the submission of the application. Age relaxation of up to three years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-Creamy Layer)/Women/PwD/EWS categories.
Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting viva can also apply. A consent letter from a mentor is mandatory, and all essential documents should be submitted with the application.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The School/Department/Centre will shortlist candidates based on the following desirable qualifications:
- Preference will be given to applicants who have qualified in NET-Lectureship and all such other governmental agencies, including GATE/DST INSPIRE.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least one publication as the first author, and the cumulative impact factor of the publications will be considered.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
