Postdoc position
One position is for studying novel long non-coding RNAs in regulating early human heart development and heart disease.
The successful candidate is expected to be self-motivated with a recent PhD degree.
The second position is for joint research labs of Dr Lei Yang and Dr Jun Wan at the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics. Dr Jun Wan is the director of Collaborative Core for Cancer Bioinformatics (C3B) shared by Indiana University Simon Cancer Center and Purdue University Center for Cancer Research.
He has broad interests in using cutting edge technologies and approaches to study gene regulatory network, particularly to explore master regulators for gene programming and understand mechanisms of gene regulation.
Qualification
The candidate is expected to have solid experience in molecular and cell biology, or mouse genetic models. Preference will be given to individuals with hands-on experience associated with RNA and/or epigenetic studies. Bioinformatics or mouse experimental skills are a plus.
A PhD degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biology, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate should have experience in NGS data analysis and be proficient in programming languages including R and Python.
